Growing up we’re taught to learn and understand using our brains but aren’t taught much about how to listen to or learn about what our bodies tell us. In this healing arts workshop we’ll explore some movement and breathing techniques to deepen our connection with our bodies and our personal energy. In better understanding of our bodies we can better manage difficulties and stress when they arise as well as notice and manage the parts of ourselves that cause us stress.
In the first half of the workshop we will explore simple and slow movements that can be used at any time of our day to come back into our bodies and into presence. If you’ve tried meditation and have felt like it isn’t for you, basic and mindful movement can be a great alternative. In the second half I will lead a guided breathwork session to deepen our connection and help create some energetic movement within the body.
Wear comfy clothes, bring a yoga mat, and some curiosity to better connect with your body and personal energy. The class is Wednesday, September 30th from 7:00 PM to 8:30. $5-$20 sliding scale donation. For more information, click here.
