First Friday – April 1st, 2022

Digital art is an artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as part of the creative or presentation process. Since the 1960s, various names have been used to describe the process, including computer art and multimedia art. Digital art is itself placed under the larger umbrella term new media art.This month we wanted to explore digital art and invite artists from our community to exhibit their art. Among the invited artists will be works by Brenda Yedem Alamo, Jane Peterson, Juan Cervantes, Maribel Hernandez, Pamela Moidel to name a few.

Presents: “Pura Avenida Mural Dedication “ 1pm – 8pm .

Come down March 26, 2022 and celebrate the event with us. This is a Family event so everyone is welcome.

This is an all ages FREE show at Bell Arts Factory that will include
Live Performances, Vendors, Food, Desserts, Coffee and Kids Activities!
At the @puraavenida mural, the block will be closed to allow everyone to get up close and admire artwork of 55+ Artists who contributed to the “Longest mural in the 805.”
This will also be a great chance to meet some of the artists in person, as well as some beautiful lowriders will be displayed.
There will also be a ceremony, ribbon cutting, and Special performance by the Moraza family during sunset.

First Friday – March 4th, 2022

It gives us an endless amount of satisfaction to have been able, as part of the Galería Cooperativa, to provide the space for Sue Franco (In-House Bell Arts Factory Artist) to carry out her workshop: Las del Aquelarre – Arte Pal’ Corazón. The purpose of the workshop, which not only women but also men from our community attended and participated in, was to use art as a loudspeaker against all forms of violence, abuse and inequality.

To create arts and education programs that will heighten artistic awareness within the community and enrich the quality of life for all citizens of Ventura, California.

Looking back on 2021

As we look back, it can always be interesting to reflect on what we thought was going to be and what actually came to fruition. At the beginning of the year we still felt compelled to keep our virtual programs alive – via zoom, but as the year progressed we were able to offer in-person programs and events again. Always keeping art high and the way it can help our community to stay vibrant and feeling alive is and will be one of our focuses. Let’s look back a bit and take a look at some highlights from this now almost completed year 2021.
