Need a break from all the Ventura County Fair festivities? Well come by Bell Arts Factory for the August 4th, 2017 First Friday to get your dose of inspiration, art and community. There have been lots of new developments over the past months so consider this the ‘soft opening’ of some of the changes.
Some things will remain the same. Bell Arts Factory and our artists will open their doors from 6 pm – 9 pm, to showcase new artwork. This will also be an opportunity to meet one of our newest tenants, John Moseley. He will open for the first time this First Friday, so please make sure to introduce yourself. He’s in Studio #82.
We also have three other Grand Openings this month. The Girls Girls Club will be hosting their first open house in Studio #84, with Nancy Pedersen from Sunflowers on the Square opening up in Studios 37 and 39. Also Reves De Sabine will be showing off her new space in Studio 32, shared with Scott Gordon.
The Bell Arts Factory Community Room will also be hosting a very special exhibit, celebrating the work of our inaugural Spanish Language Art Camp class. These students have been hard at work the last three weeks, learning fine art technique in classes taught entirely in Spanish. This one-of-a-kind program featured a curriculum developed by Bell Arts’ own Maribel Hernandez. We were able to fund this program 100% through community donations, and offer it free to all students.
We also have a unique marketplace coming together for August 2017 First Friday. We’ll have artist Kevin Ward in our lobby, with his first exhibit at Bell Arts. Leading out to the patio, you’ll find assorted vendors with DJ Hunter keeping it live in the background. We’ve got some new and familiar faces, so definitely put the patio on your checklist.
This is but a few of things happening for this First Friday at Bell Arts Factory. It’s going to be our own mini fair for the Ventura arts community… without the expensive parking and possibility of getting stuck on a ride! And if you’re hungry, Ortiz Taco Time will be serving tacos and other fare in the main lobby.
Bell Arts Factory is located at 432 N. Ventura Ave. Ventura, CA 93001. First Friday goes from 6 PM to 9 PM. See you there!
