The Bell Arts Factory patio was transformed into California landscape for the May 2017 First Friday. The children in our after-school art program, with the help of our teacher Michelle, brought the super-bloom from the hillside straight to Ventura’s westside.
It was also a night of celebration for the children, who were able to sing and dance, eat cupcakes, and exhibit their work for their parents and friends, alongside all of the other artists for First Friday.
The children had spent the past few weeks working on the project, creating unique ceramic flowers, mushrooms, and other artwork inspired by the 2017 California Super Bloom. They were able to purchase the materials for the special exhibit from contributions to the Youth Art Program this past December. A heart-felt thank you goes out to all who supported this program.
Bell Arts Factory would also like to extend a special thanks to Michelle for all of her hard work coordinating the exhibit. Also, thank you to Terry from Color Productions who provided the music for the children, and a big thank you all of the children and their families who participated in the event.
A few ceramic flowers and mushrooms from this project are still available for sale. Please call 805-836-ARTS or email us here if you are interested in purchasing the children’s work. All proceeds will be used to support the Youth Art Program. Bell Arts Factory offers free after-school/weekend art classes on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
